This year we are pleased to introduce a new phase of the Adopt-A-Priest program: Adopt-A-Seminary! We would like to honor and support those young men in seminary as they discern and pursue the holy Priesthood.

Explanation

You may register to spiritually adopt a seminary alone or in addition to a priest. This part of the ministry is a bit different than that of the spiritual adoption of a priest. As seminarians enter the seminary and go through formational phases, they come and go to various places. Therefore, when sponsors register for the spiritual adoption of a seminary, they will be praying for all of the men attending the local seminary in the Diocese of Spokane—Bishop White Seminary.

Materials

Upon completion of your registration, you will be emailed the following Adopt-a-Priest spiritual adoption enrollment materials:

• Welcome Letter

• Certificate of Spiritual Adoption

• Suggested Daily Prayer

• Sponsor’s Pledge

• Subscription to the Prayer of the Week newsletter

Note: The Suggested Daily Prayer is sent to all sponsors to help with your prayer commitment. It is more than just a simple prayer, it is a daily offering for all your prayers and good works. You are free to use this prayer or offer any prayer of your choosing. Nevertheless, consistent daily prayer is encouraged in support of your priest or seminary/seminarians.

Anonymity

The names of the seminarians will not be disclosed to sponsors. Rather, sponsors will be praying for all men currently enrolled at Bishop White Seminary. Likewise, the seminarians will be informed of each Spiritual Adoption but will be given only the first name of their sponsor. There is no contact between seminarians and the sponsors.
