“As for you, dearest sons and daughters, pray for your Priests, that the Lord may pour out his gifts abundantly upon them, and keep them faithful as ministers of Christ, the High Priest, so that they may lead you to him, who is the source of salvation.” cf: The Bishop’s exhortation to the faithful after the Renewal of Priestly Promises at the Chrism Mass of Holy Thursday.
There are many ways that we can offer spiritual support for priests. We can pray for the sanctification of priests at Mass, offer our Communion for their perseverance, pray the rosary for their growth in holiness, recite litanies and novenas for their intentions, and offer our sacrifices to support them in their lives of priestly sacrifice. In this section you will find various resources that may help you fulfill your pledge of prayer for priests.

“The priestly act by which Jesus—the Man Jesus, who is one with the Son of God—gives himself over to the Father for us; it is the expression of the fact that he is both priest and victim.” cf: Chrism Mass homily of Pope Benedict XVI, Holy Thursday, 2009
A litany is a traditional form of prayer used by the Church in responsive petition. Litanies are powerful forms of prayer that can be recited in public or private for special intentions. Sponsors may wish to add a litany to the prayers they regularly offer for priests.
