For Priests

“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.” Jn. 17:20-21

I invite all Catholic priests to enroll in the Adopt-a-Priest program dedicated to Jesus the Eternal High Priest. Each enrolled member-priest becomes an integral part of this program that brings priests and the people you serve into a unity of prayer for one another. It is my pledge to find sponsors for all member-priests annually. We dedicate our prayers to Mary, Mother of Priests, asking her to make her maternal presence felt all priests for whom we offer dedicated prayer and sacrifice.

Upon acceptance of your enrollment I will send you, via email, the following:

  • Adopt-a-Priest Welcome Letter
  • Priest’s Membership Card
  • Notification of Spiritual Adoption
  • Complimentary subscription of the “Prayer of the Week” newsletter
  • The Prayer of the Week is a newsletter sent to sponsors to help keep them active in their yearly prayer commitment for priests. Priests are welcome to receive copies of this newsletter and are free to unsubscribe at any time.

Once enrolled, your membership is perpetual and I am committed to locating sponsors for you annually. Occasionally priests may be assigned more than one sponsor per year, depending upon the annual number of registered sponsors. I will be sure to notify you of each new Spiritual Adoption. There is no commitment required of member-priests; it is your faithful commitment of priestly service that we gratefully support.

Your contact information as well as your identity is protected at all times; there is no contact between priest and sponsor. Sponsors receive only the initials of the priests they adopt as well as his diocese, archdiocese, or congregation name. The element of anonymity raises the sponsor’s gift of Spiritual Adoption to a sacrificial level where it can best support you in your life of priestly sacrifice.

“We cannot do without a spiritual motherhood for our priestly life: let us entrust ourselves confidently to the prayer of the whole of Holy Mother Church, to the motherhood of the People, whose pastors we are but to whom are entrusted our custody and holiness; let us ask for this fundamental support.” cf: Letter on the Occasion of the World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests, May 7, 2008
