“What eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
and what has not entered the human heart,
what God has prepared for those who love Him,
this God has revealed to us through the Spirit.”
Nothing is outside the tender love and generosity of God. The many good things He has stored up for us in His love surpass our imagining. And God’s love for us has a name ~ it is
What wondrous love is this—that God would send His only Son, who would take on human flesh, and live with us, and die for us—that we might have eternal life with Him!
Jesus Christ, the eternal Priest, Prophet, and King continues His salvific mission through His priests who seek with all their hearts to draw all into Communion with Christ and His Church.
It is our great privilege, as sponsors, to help priests in their Apostolic mission by humbly supporting them by our prayers and sacrifices. As the season of Lent approaches, let us consider what special gifts we can offer for this purpose.
Please join me now in the Prayer of the Week for all of our adopted priests, and for all priests, that Jesus in His tender love, may strengthen them for the priestly mission they carry out in His name.
Prayer of the Week
In Praise of God’s Grandeur
Dear Lord, it seems that You are so madly in love with Your creatures that You could not live without us. So You created us; and then, when we turned away from You, You redeemed us. Yet, You are God and so have no need of us. Your greatness is made no greater by our creation; Your power is made no stronger by our redemption. You have no duty to care for us, no debt to re-pay us. It is love, and love alone, which moves You.
Teach me then to love as You love, to serve You as You deserve; to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and
not to seek for rest, to labor and not to ask for reward, save that of knowing that I do your will.
~combined prayers of St. Catherine of Siena: “In Praise of God’s Grandeur,” and St. Ignatius of Loyola’s “Suscipe”
