“The worship of the Eucharist outside of the Mass is of inestimable value for the life of the Church; it is strictly linked to the celebration of the Eucharistic Sacrifice. It is pleasant to spend time with him, to lie close to his breast like the Beloved Disciple and to feel the infinite love present in his heart. If in our time Christians must be distinguished above all by the ‘art of prayer’, how can we not feel a renewed need to spend time in spiritual converse, in silent adoration, in heartfelt love before Christ present in the Most Holy Sacrament? cf. Ecclesia de Eucharistia (25)
Spending time in the presence of Our Lord during Adoration can be a very rich and fruitful time of prayer and contemplation. We can speak to Christ, and we can listen to Him. Sponsors may wish to make a Holy Hour of Adoration and offer this for your own intentions as well as for those of your adopted priest. Any prayers may be offered during Adoration including those listed throughout this section.
