“When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing by whom he loved, he said to his mother: ‘Woman, behold your son.’ After that, he said to the disciple: ‘Behold your mother.’ And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own. (Jn 19: 26-27)
“In the Incarnation, Mary the Mother of the High Priest becomes also the Mother of all the Body of Christ, the Church, and the Mother of all ‘priestly ministers,’ a spiritual motherhood which proclaims Christ Crucified” (The Priest, His Identity and Mission, Marcello Bordoni, 5/11/2010)
Mary was there to support her Son in consecrated prayer during His entire mission among men. She is there also to support all priests entrusted to her at the height of her sacrifice on Calvary. Mary invites us to join her at the foot of the Cross of her Son by offering daily prayer and sacrifice in support of priests.
The Daughters of Mary, Mother of Priests consecrate our lives to this task. Let us stand with Mary at the foot of the Cross, joining our prayers and sacrifices with hers, all the while interceding for all priests who offer themselves daily with Christ.
